Letter from Katy Sheyka, Principal

Hello Arroyo Families,

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself to you. My name is Katy Sheyka, and I have recently been named the new Principal of Arroyo Elementary School. My passion for education and supporting the success of all students has been shaped over the past 21 years as a classroom teacher, an elementary teacher assistant principal, an intervention teacher on special assignment for TUSD, and principal of Loma Vista Elementary School, where I have served for the past six years. In each of my roles I have sought to ensure the success of each student and the school by putting the heart of the child and the wellness of the community at the center of my decision making process. It is a pleasure and an honor to have the opportunity to lead and serve the Arroyo community.

Arroyo is a very special place, and I am excited to work in partnership with you to continue to nurture and grow a strong 21st century, student-centered learning environment. I am committed to working in partnership with you to continue the excellence that is Arroyo Elementary. I wish you all a fantastic summer and look forward to getting to know you in the fall.

Kindest regards,

Katy Sheyka
